Dynamic Pulse Control (DPC) is a powerful light-based technology. During treatment, the DPC pulses are directed at the vascular lesion. The pulses have a specific wavelength which is optimally absorbed by the hemoglobin chromophores (a red protein responsible for transporting oxygen to the blood in the lesion). The pulses heat up the hemoglobin resulting in blood clotting that disintegrate the vascular lesion.

During a treatment, Dynamic Pulse Control (DPC) are emitted into the skin. Due to the specific wavelength of the pulse, the pigmented lesion optimally absorbs the light energy. The energy causes the pigmented lesion to break down and eventually disappear while leaving the rest of the skin unharmed. Initially, this process will manifest as darkening of the pigment, then a scab will cover the treated area that naturally exfoliates within 1-2 weeks.
